The RCBO, or Residual-current Circuit Breaker with Overcurrent protection, sometimes referred to as a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter), is an advanced circuit breaker that conforms to the rigorous standards of IEC/BS EN 61009-1 and GB16917. This sophisticated device uniquely integrates the capabilities of both an MCB and an RCD (RCCB), ensuring robust protection against overloads, short-circuits, and residual currents. It is available in two distinct types, based on its tripping mechanism, namely ELE (ELEctronic) and ELM (ELectroMagnetic). Additionally, it is offered in four main variations, tailored to different waveform and frequency requirements of fault currents: Type Ac, Type A, Type F, and Type B. These types are selected in accordance with the mandatory national standards across various countries, ensuring optimal safety and reliability.
